James Beard Semifinalist Chef Preeti Waas was born and raised in India, and her childhood food memories were the inspiration behind a majority of Cheeni's menu at both locations. As we explore regional, home-cooked Indian cuisine in Durham with a new dinner menu, we've been working on ways to bring that regionality to Raleigh, too. What better way to do so than by teaching you our family recipes?


Join Preeti in cooking three flavor-packed dishes from the state of Kerala: Beef Pepper Fry, Chicken Ishtew, and Prawn Curry. The Chicken Ishtew is a popular favorite at our newly opened Durham spot!


This class will be three hours long, including time for a shared meal. Each ticket covers one complimentary glass of wine or beer, and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the class. A valid ID must be provided to receive an alcoholic beverage.
